If you start to type in the Google search box Google will suggest popular searches that begin with the letters you typed. This is what I got when I typed the different letters of the alphabet. No I don’t know what Zillow is.

Muhammed from an illustration in a 13th century Persian manuscript. In some other depictions his face and hands are obscured.

Is sacreligious speech protected by the 1st Ammendment? I believe so, as long as it is not libelous or slanderous.

Microsoft finally makes a decent commercial

Apple has been running the “I’m a PC and I’m a Mac” commercials since 2006 without a word from Microsoft. Finally Microsoft has responded and created an ad which says, “I’m a PC and I’ve been made into a stereotype.”

[The new Microsoft ads] show lots of fascinating people saying that they use PCs. They highlight the fact that many people may be somewhat offended by the idea that they can’t be interesting or cool if they don’t use a Mac.

Suddenly, Apple looks a little elitist. I mean, they were elitist before, but in a way that made you want to be a part of the club. Now, they just seem a little snobby.

I met a man at a truck stop in Perryville, Maryland who said that when we die we go to spend eternity with Q. He said that Q created the world and all the living things in it.

I asked him if bad people will go to be with Q, people who have stolen, lied or murdered. He said that when bad people die and appear before Q they will immediately feel ashamed and will repent of all their wrong-doing. Q will forgive them and let them spend eternity with him.

I asked about people who worship false gods. He said that there is only one true god, Q, but when idolaters appear before him they will realize the error of their way and worship Q for all eternity.

I had the feeling that this guy had just made up this god, Q, but I had no way to rebut his story.

What would you say to this believer in Q?

I went to Bob Jones University from 1988 to about 1991. I could give you better dates, but I stayed out a couple semesters and I forget exactly when I left. I completed 4 or 5 semesters. One thing that sets BJU apart is campus life. They have strict rules. Here is what they tell prospective students about what to expect when living on campus.

From BJU.edu:

General Expectations

All chapels and classes are required, as are certain other activities, including weekly society meetings, Sunday morning Sunday school and worship service on campus, vespers, artist series programs, and Bible Conference services.

Students are challenged to develop Christlikeness that is evidenced in consistent Christian character. To help each student to grow in Christlikeness, BJU has a reasonable, just, and firm disciplinary system.
Loyalty to Christ results in separated living. Dishonesty, lewdness, sensual behavior, adultery, homosexuality, sexual perversion of any kind, pornography, illegal use of drugs, and drunkenness all are clearly condemned by God’s Word and prohibited here. Further, we believe that biblical principles preclude gambling, dancing, and the beverage use of alcohol.

Dating and Mixed Groups

We want students to have wholesome social opportunities in a setting that provides accountability for biblical requirements of purity. It is with this in mind that we chaperon campus activities where men and women students are present and require a chaperon when students date or interact in a mixed group off campus.

Work

Students may work in town until 10:25 pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends. Freshmen must have a prayer captain, assistant prayer captain, or upperclassman with them. Sophomores and upperclassmen may work alone.

Freshmen and sophomores may not use their vehicles to go to and from work.
Students may not serve alcoholic beverages when waiting tables at restaurants.
Students may not do house-to-house sales anywhere in the Greenville area. Students offering services to the community must have a retail license or have clearance from the Dean of Students to do door-to-door solicitation for their services.
Students may not miss nightly prayer meetings on weekdays.

I love how when you buy a toddler an expensive gift, she spends hours playing with the cardboard box while the toy remains unused. Why not just find cardboard to play with and forget the toys? Swiss-based architect, Nicola Enrico StÃ¤ubli, has designed furniture using cardboard that follows patterns similar to what you see in origami.
